Small League or Mega Contest? Pick the Room That Fits Your Read

The prize pool size doesn't tell you which room to join. Field size, prize split, and your confidence in the fixture do. Here's how to decide in under two minutes.

How to Actually Decide

I used to join mega contests every single match because the prize pool number looked exciting. My rank sat around 40,000 for three months straight. The fix wasn't a better team — it was matching contest size to how confident I actually was in the lineup.

If you're unsure about the Playing XI

Stick to small leagues or head-to-head. A wrong bench call in a 2-person room costs you one contest. The same call in a mega contest buries your rank for the whole match.

If you have a strong differential pick

Mega contests reward calls that most people won't make. If you're backing a low-ownership all-rounder because the toss and pitch support him, a bigger field gives that pick room to pay off.

If it's your first time on a fixture

Use a practice room. Build two versions of your team and compare which one would have scored better. No entry fee, same learning value.
